Murithi M'nkubitu

Murithi M’nkubitu is a Senior Partner at the firm and a distinguished Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with extensive experience in international human rights law. He is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi, both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. His Master of Laws (LLM) focused on gender rights, child protection, disability rights, and the intersection of democracy and development. Murithi’s career spans high-level engagement with international institutions and cross-border legal practice. He has worked with the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and has undertaken human rights assignments in refugee and immigration law across Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Pakistan. A recognised leader in employment law, labour relations and institutional reform, Murithi has represented United Nations personnel in various national and international staff unions for many years. In 2021, he was elected to serve as Secretary and a member of the United Nations Global Staff Union, representing more than 20,000 UN staff worldwide. He has also served as the Global Convener of the United Nations Advisory Group on Diversity, Inclusion and Equality, where he led initiatives addressing racism and other forms of discrimination within the UN system. Murithi brings to the firm a rare combination of litigation experience, policy expertise, and international leadership in human rights, labour relations, and institutional accountability.
